Our Mission and Vision

The mission of The James Family Continuing Education Foundation is to provide high school senior students who have experienced or are living in foster care with future academic, trade or apprenticeship opportunities. It is our hope that this scholarship fund will allow students to select from appropriate instructional situations that encourage and motivate them to grow.
Each recipient will have access to a learning environment that will stimulate and nurture their intellect, creative and emotional development. Colleges, trade schools, and apprenticeships allow for students to experience opportunities that otherwise might not be available to them. Thus providing a chance to work with educators and employers in a manner that helps ensure their future employment ability. It is also our vision to support scholarship recipients beyond their academic future to be dependable, responsible, and cooperative members of society.

Our Commitment

Our Scholarship Program honors outstanding Northern Virginia high school seniors who have overcome adversity, demonstrated academic excellence or a marked improvement in overall academic achievement.
We are a non-profit foundation committed to help foster care youth who have experienced hardship. Encouraging them to continue on a path of success with scholarship opportunities and recognizing that they are greater than their circumstances.
